Happy Birthday Tracey. A Postcard from Belgium.

First of all I would like to wish my dear friend Tracey Happy Birthday,

Unfortunately I can't show you the card I made for her yet as I have to give Tracey the card first.

Here is my postcard for Darcy's challenge. I am a bit later than usual posing it but it is finally here.

I don't know if Hotel Chocolat originated in Belgium but I had the ribbon and it suited the card so I used it. I coluoured the stamped images with my Polychromos and stuck them on with 3d foam pads, coloured the flag with my Neo colours (a bargain not to be missed as I was informed by Anita they are like magic!) Oh! and they are!

And here is the back of the postcard.

It reads:-

Dear Spencer,

No regrets, I had a wonderful time. I return the ring to Harry this week, wish me luck.

No need to call let's keep up the postcards it's more fun.

P.s. I'm in Belgium at the moment eating lots of lovely chocolates.

Postcard From Paris - Week 5

The card was sent from Paris and I really had the urge to use my sewing machine so I sewed the edges of the flag for some texture.

Brazil Week 3 of Darcy's postcard Challenge

This is my postcard for week three of Darcy's postcard challenge. And it was a challenge this week as I didn't know what I could do for the postcard, so I decided to use the flag colours and the famous carnival< I sat and crocheted the flowers and thought what I could do while I was crocheting and I came up with the idea of a mask and lots of bling!

The back of the postcard,

Reads:-

Dear Penny,

Let's meet and reunite you with this ring. I'm in Brazil at the moment but will have a stop over in London on Wed 1st Feb 2012. Meet me at the bar in Claridges Hotel at 8pm, there will be a cocktail waiting for you at the bar - I will be in my uniform. By the way 'Im intrigued, you say it's no longer yours, I imagine a girl doesn't easily give up a diamond this big!

I hope you like it and thank you all again for all of the lovely comments, I am loving this challenge so much, why didn't they do something like this at school so I enjoyed geography?

Postcard Challenge week 2 - Spain

Yay!! week 2 of Darcy's Postcard challenge has arrived!

The country for this week is Spain. I chose Madrid as this is the fashion capital of Spain and it fits so well with my story, I decorated my postcard with Tim Holtz sewing room die and Tag and bookplates. I added some thread, a wooden button, pearls, lace and brads and glossy accents crackle. I also printed an old map from google images and used this for the background.

And on the back of the card I made a template on the PC added the word postcard in Spanish ( I hope it's right :0/ ) I also added an old Spanish stamp I found in my stash.

The postcard reads:

Dear Captain Spencer Everett,

Thank goodness you found my purse.You see the item inside no longer mine and I need to return it A.S.A.P. We need to meet but it seems we are both regular travellers. I am a fashion designer and am often overseas, as you'll see from the card i am in Madrid at the moment.If you you would please let me know when you are next in London I will arrange to pick up the purse.

Week 1 - Austria

Here is my first postcard for Darcy's postcard challenge I used the sound of music for decorating my postcard and I am quite chuffed with it.

It is sent from Austria by a pilot named Captain Spencer Everitt to a Lady called Penelope Chalmers.

I also printed the back of the postcard and printed a stamp all from google images.

Inside the postcard reads-

Dear Penelope, I hope you enjoyed your flight on Jumping Jet airlines. I was your pilot Spencer. I found your purse on the plane witht your address inside I would like to meet youy to return it. you will know from wht's inside why I san't post it to you. I'm in Austria now but write to me in London and let me know where we can get together.

I also have pictures of my characters which I haven't quite finised yet but will post these at a later date, I also still need to make some kind of storage for the postcard.

A Christmas Wreath Inspired by Tracey and Anita, and thank you for helping me build it too.

A quick gift card that I made for a special teenager.

Rum Truffles for Hubby his mum makes them every year for him so I have tried to do this when he doesn't see her (although he will this year) I usually use a different recipe but I can't find it anywhere so just got this one off the internet (not as nice as usual).

Ok, so I hear you ask 'what is this' well last night hubby was at snooker so I thought I would join in the craft and chat group with the QVC ladies Kirsty, Amy and Marion.

OMG!! what a laugh it was, Kirsty managed her demo with distorted sound she made a great tree out of an old book, then it came to Marion who was there in sound and no picture just a blue screen! eventually sussing it out and demoing lovely flowers and then it was Amy's turn, well! we switched channels due to tech difficulties then she had sound and no pic then pic with no sound so she managed her demo in silent eventually, with everyone in the chat room making stories up as she went along.

everyone had such a fun time it is definitely one to remember!

apart from hubby coming home early and thinking I was bonkers, almost wetting myself looking at a blue screen it was fab thank you for the entertainment ladies.:)

Last but not least here is the lovely bunch of flowers I received from work thank you to everyone.

Nearly back to planet earth!!

Thank you to everyone for all of your well wishes:) I am back home from hospital slowly getting mobile:) still in a lot of pain mainly from the staples but it is easing, I am pleased to say.

I am hoping when I can sit up I am going to catch up with Tim's tags, it is torture not being able to make them.

So in the mean time here is a card I made in November for my father in law.

I used All of Tim's products on this and used crackle glossy accents on the clock and letters.

Just a quick simple card.I hope you like it.

T!m's Tag - Day 4

Here is my next Tag for day 4 of T!m's 12 tags you can see Tim's here.

I had so much fun with this tag, although it was a long process waiting for everything to dry. I have put 2 pictures on as I couldn't decide which I liked best.

I didn't have the snowman die (although I have ordered it) I couldn't wait to get started, so I hand cut the snowman and I didn't have the snowflake die so I punched some out of acetate.

So my big day has arrived:( just a quick post, hopefully I will be able to catch up after my operation.

Better go and finish packing and see you soon.

T!m's tag day 3

Oh my gosh!!! I am having sooo much fun with these tags:) I am so looking forward to today's tag too :).

OK so I didn't have the stamp or embossing folder or cut and dry foam or bells lol! for this one so I stamped lots of Xmas stamps in different colours and added some fluffy stuff and glitter to make it a little different, I wasn't sure about it at first but I am loving it now:).

you can find Tim's here.

I did emboss the tag using dots die by cuttlebug and added some stickles randomly to the embossing, I used a Wood ware punch and the pine cone die for the leaves, added red pearls for the berries:)

and instead of the bell I found a lovely flower in my stash from a bracelet which I broke off :)

Tim's Tag day 1

Ok! so it was Dec 1st yesterday and that means day 1 of Tim's 12 days of christmas :) yayyy!!!

So here is my take on Tim's tag, I am so glad I have done lots of internet shopping while I have been unwell lol!! I bought the pinecone die and didn't really know what to do with it :( Guess what...... Tim used it on his first tag!!! although it has taken a lot of prctice to get it right.

I am hoping to do tags 1-3 then I go in hospital to have a Disc removed from my back on mon :0(. I am hoping I will be well enough when I get out to play catch up, I managed 8 of the tags last year,

ATC Catch up!!

Here are some Atc's I have made but didn't get time to post. Firstly here is an Atc for an International Swap I made 10 the same it had to have stamping somewhere on it. I found this a challenge as I love to pile them with embellishments. Margaret is new to blog land and hasn't uploaded her pics yet, if you keep a look out I am sure she will soon.

The theme for the swap was hearts and had to include red! I think I covered that Lol!

Here are some invites I have made for a friend at work, It is her Daughter Lexi's 1st birthday on Saturday, So I wanted to make the cards pink and girly and simple.

Here are my atc's for The Stamp Man this month the theme is In the garden so what else to do than a secret garden, I love the finished look of the movers and shapers padlock, I think they are very cute!

Happy Birthday Anita!!!!

Here is the Birthday Card I made for Anita I met Anita through crafting too:).

This is the gift I made for Anita. I do apologise I forgot to photo it before I added the feet and the plastic front so the pictures aren't the best, I am very pleased with the finished product, in fact I didn't want to give it away but I know it has gone to a loving home and I can pop and see it whenever I like :)

I used all of my Favourite embellishments on the Configurations box, in the picture below you can see a big Prima flower and can only just see a Tim Holtz pen nib, in the following hole you can see a teeny vase that I painted in Picket fence crackle paint and inked with Victorian velvet Distress ink. I added tint roses to the vase.

In the next hole is another Prima flower and some Prima bling!

In this hole I added a cotton spool cut with the Tim Holtz Die, I added thread and a pin and some beautiful scissors to remind us of our favourite craft shop Running With Scissors.

Next is a great big bloom which was inked with Victorian velvet and sprayed with glimmer mist, I added a teeny bottle filled with beads.

And a photo of the blingy Curio Knob with lots of bling dangling from it.

Nearly all of the supplies are from Running with Scissors and the papers are sold in RWS too, these were a gift from Tracey.

Thank you they are devine. and I made sure I kept a cutting for me :)

I hope you like it and sorry I didn't get anymore pictures I think my lovely friend Tracey took some for me when we had to dismantle the box as a stray bit of glue jumped in it!

Good morning,

here is a quick post from me today.

This is the Atc I have made for The Stamp Man swap this month, I really struggled with this theme as I really didn't want to buy anything new for the swap, I remembered I owned A Cricut!! so I found it along with the cartridges in the back of my cupboard and found this cute seahorse on the doodle charm cartridge, although it did take me a while to remember how to work it :)

So here is my finished Atc for the month.

I have been playing catch up too, I am one whole month ahead with my Running With Scissors Swap and Stamp Man (although I am not sure how long it will last!)

Holiday Snaps and Vintage

Sorry for not blogging in a while, I have been a busy bee enjoying the beautiful Island of Cyprus (Pahpos) and I have also been to Cornwall for a week with my gorgeous hubby we had the most amazing time:).

Here are a few holiday snaps.

This was a picture taken on our second visit to the chinese restaurant Chloe's. It served the most amazing food we had to go back :)

Here are some of the views as walked to the harbour, just look at the gorgeous blue sky (oh!! I wish I was back there!)

Here are are couple of pitures of Polperro harbour in Cornwall (just beautiful!) but take note not very sunny:(.

Last but not least here are my ATC's I made for this month at the Stamp Man, the theme was Vintage.

Good morning everyone!

This is the tag I have made for the month of May, following the tutorial on Paulien's blog.

The bird, bird cage and book page are from my lovely friend Anita thank you.x

The calendar is from a Tim Holtz paper pad, Prima flower and the charm in the middle is a Prima vintage Trinket. The other two danglies are from a charm necklace pulled apart which was purchased from a car boot recently visited with Tracey and Anita.

I am in a rush as I am determined to burn some calories for my hols so I am going for a morning jog while the sun is shining.

Last but not least my lovely friend Tracey has just finished the refurb in her shop Running with Scissors, let me tell you it is well worth a visit, it looks stunning and has lots of scrummy stock so if you are in the area pop in and see her.

April Tag

Sorry for the lack of blogging! I am a busy bee at the moment and struggling to find room to craft as we are decorating and have furniture in all the spare rooms :( Hopefully not for long though!

So here is my tag for April I followed some of Paulien's tutorial for this tag.

I used old dress patterns to make this flower, then sprayed with glimmer mist and added lots of beads.

I used some petals I received for a Christmas present in this flower and ined the edges and added a brad and beads.

I was so happy to find out My atc was chosen as the winner for last month's theme Wise Words, this means I get to choose the theme for July, I better start thinking of it! Secondly here is the birthday card I made for Margaret I just love the poppy's in the corner of the paper (sorry about the pic Realised it is a bit blurry after I had uploaded it and couldn't take another as the card is now in Margaret's hands) I hope you had a lovely birthday Margaret I enjoyed the quick drink, it was lovely to see you sorry I couldn't get to you a bit earlier.

Catch Up

I have made this tag for January..... Still playing catch up. I was asked if I would like to join the fun as Paulien is making a tag a month, you should pop over and have a look at them they are all stunning and Pauloen is also doing tutorials on her tags using some fantastic ideas.

For the bacground I smeared gesso on the tag, and used distress inks and pearl shimmer mist (milled lavender, Bundled sage and Dusty concord) yes.... that is one of the flowers I have crocheted :)

Wise Words - Flowers and a Tag!

Here is the Atc I made for The Stamp Man they are all the same so I have only taken a picture of one of them, the theme is Wise Words I really did struggle with this as there are so many wise words!

I had a trip to Hull with Anita and bought some new cotton to make lots of pretty flowers with for all of my crafty friends.... Here are some I made for Tracey.

Crocheted Flowers

Ok, so I have been trying to learn how to crochet for a while now, well about 5 weeks!

My friend Anita has been making scrummy flowers for me and Tracey :) Thank you Anita they are lovely. (mine aren't quite as neat as Anita's, but I am slowly getting there).

Anita so kindly sat and gave me step by step instuctions how to make the lovely flowers.

And here are the flowers I sat and made whilst watching television all day yesterday.

Steampunk!!

Ok, so the theme for The Stampman ATC Swap is Steampunk. I have really enjoyed this theme.
I made 7 altogether

3 for The Stampman

And 3 for my lovely friends who also take part in the swap and 1 for myself!

It was really messy and fun making the background, I glued loads of card die cut cogs onto a sheet of card and then tissue paper on top. I inked the tissue paper and added another layer of tissue paper then inked again I love the end product.

I hope you like them?

All I need to do now is decide which one to keep myself hmmmmmmmmmm!!!!

I used Graphic 45 paper, Green basil stock, my new Tim Holtz die Thanks Anita I love it :), Flowers and Pearls from my stash, MS punch and some chip board words I had but I am not sure who by, I also used peeled paint ink to distress and stamp with.

Happy New Year!!

Here is a quick post from me.

I would like to say a great big Happy New Year! to everyone of you that take time out to read my blog. It means a lot.

The next thing is my local and Favourite craft shop Running With Scissors is having a massive sale so if you are in the area pop in and meet the local crafters some grreat bargains to be had:).

And last but not least a grat big thank you to the lovely hand made cards and christmas gifts I received from my crafty friends I am such a lucky girl to have so many lovely friends.

Tags for days 7 & 8

Here is my tag for day 7, this was my second attempt as I used funky foam for the flowers the first one and the ink wouldn't dry. Glad I changed it I am quite happy with the finished tag.

And for day 8.... This was fun, first I thought I would be clever and make my own mask from acetate, only to find when I cut it out the mask was too big for the tag, it took me nearly all morning to cut out so I had a hunt through my stash only to find some paper with sledges on. How happy was I!

I hand cut the houses and heat embossed them and used some ribbon from my stash, heat embossed the clock and covered it with glossy accents.

Tim's Tag 6

Here is my 6th tag, it is very different to Tim's I was in the mood to use pink! I also didn't have any grunge board so hand cut the reindeer from card, I used the tattered leaves die again for the trees, heat embossed with gold detail. I found a stamp that I haven't used in ages too (New York skyline). I added charms too and a flower too.

T!m's Catch up!

Here is my tag for day 1 of Tim's 12 tags, I had loads of fun making this tag, I hand cutthe haunted house and used the tattered leaf die for the tree as it was the only thing I could think of using, once I got started on the tag it didn't take too long.

I didn't get today's tag done but I have started it and will post the completed tag soon along with day 2 which I haven't started yet.

I have had a bit of a busy day today as it was back to work as normal, except I walked home as I didn't want to park my car at the side of the road and get stuck in the snow as it is very deep.
It took me almost two and a half hours to walk home but I thoroughly enjoyed the walk (still warming up from it) :).

Today I was lucky and didn't have to go to work as my car was going nowhere, still snowed in.
I rang work and they decided to close at 12pm I was supposed to start at 1pm :).

I cleaned the house and decided to join the fun, for the 12 tags of Christmas although I have started on day 3 I have really enjoyed it.

I am not really sure what happened to my bird though!

I haven't got all the supplies so did my own take on the tag I hope you like it?

Snow way!!

I arrived home from work on Tuesday 30/11/10 to heavy snow. I was unable to get up the hill near our street and enjoyed being a lady of leisure. Being dug out by six males. what fun, but I have never seen snow like it before. this is a picture of the snow after a well earned drink about
9.30 pm. the snow got much deeper in the morning.

It was so deep the town pretty much came to a stand still and had a snow day! with lots of fun.

Firstly I would like to apologise to all of you for not blogging in ages! I have been away on a gorgeous holiday with my Husband :). I couldn't resist showing you the lovely views we woke up to every morning for two weeks it was worth getting up for at 7.30 every morning with or without a hangover. The picture was taken of my Husband looking out from our balcony over the bay in Elounda Crete.

Anyway back home now and back to reality. I have made this card for my Sister in Law. I thought I lost my mojo but I am starting to love this card! I did treat myself to a new stamp on arriving home from my hols as it reminded me of my SIL.
I am entering this into the Whiff of Joy challenge.

Here is a card I have made for the Whiff of Joy challenge, this was to follow a sketch by Bev.
I have made the hearts by following a tutorial on the Whiff of Joy site. I used Picket Fence Crackle paint and Rock Candy Crackle paint by Tim Holtz to decorate the hearts and some recycled string, I also inked the hearts with Victorian Velvet, Spun Sugar and Frayed Burlap also by Tim Holtz.

Friday Sketchers #93

Here is my card for this week's Friday sketcher's. This week I decided to buy 3 digi stamps. They are from Spesch Designer Stamps, I couldn't resist this one as my gorgeous Hubby is taking me to see Alice in Wonderland tonight, I also bought The Mad Hatter and Alice to go with the collection. It is the first time I have used a digi image and I was worried that when using distress inks the printer ink would run. But I was being very careful not to put to much water on the lines, and all turned out well I was very happy with the result.
I also managed to use all papers in my stash.

So here is my card!

My friend finally gave birth to a healthy a baby boy. Congratulations!
So I made this card for them using the Simon Says Stamp Challenge sketch this week.

Here is my entry for Friday Sketchers this week.
I used the sketch to make my MIL's Mother's day card, I had to stop myself piling on the embelishments as I need to post it to Cornwall.
Sorry as you can't see the sentiment very well on the card as the flash caught the glimmer mist. it says Just for you!

I am still working my way through all of my old papers these are Basic Grey, and the flowers, Lace and stickles were all from RWS.

I used distress inks to paint the picture.

Friday Sketchers and Just Magnolia.

A quick short post! here is the card that I am entering in this week's Friday Sketchers following the yummy sketch by Carole.

And I am also entering this card into the Just Magnolia challenge as all you had to do was make a birthday card and with lots of birthdays coming up I thought it was easy!

Again using all my scraps I think the paper is MF (not sure though)
I have used my new Sailor Tilda and coloured with distress inks
Scattered Straw (hair), Antique Linen (Boots and Scarf), Worn Lipstick ( Suit, Laces and Cheeks), Tattered Rose (skin). I used Antique Linen to ditress all edges and stamp seniment and New Years Swirl on pink cardstock.

Coffee and Cream for a Fabulous Mum!

Sorry I couldn't stop piling on all of the embelishments I love how it turned out, I hope you like it.

I have been really good lately and I am trying to use up old papers that I have in my stash to make room for all the new stock that my friend Tracey is getting in at the moment. Tracey owns my local craft shop Running with Scissors. I go on a saturday to do scrapbooking in the morning which I love doing and meeting up with all of my lovely crafting friends, and recently I haven't been very good at sticking to Tracey's instuctions so have come away with my own little take on the layout as I seem to cut the paper in the wrong place. Sorry Tracey I will try and get it right on Saturday lol! we have such a laugh. In the afternoons most of us stay til late crafting and laughing, the perfect tonic after a week of work.

I have used :

Spotty basil Brown (RWS)

Bo bunny dots Cream (RWS)

Flowers (RWS)

Most of the embellies are also from RWS - Stickles, Liquid Pearls, Disterss Inks, Pearls, Glimmer mist.

Feather was in my stash along with the pearl flower.

Magnolia - New year swirl around the edge of the image.

I have distressed all of the edges with distress inks and made use of my MS butterfly punch and around the corner punch, I am not sure who the sentiment stmp is by as I found it among my old stamps ( it is surprising what you find hidden among paper!) I have used one of the stamps from the WOJ City girls collection, this is the first time I have used this one and I am sure it won't be the last!

Swirls and Pearls and 3,2,1.

Here is my latest card which I am going to enter In the Whiff of Joy challenge which the theme is Swirls and Pearls, I have used all leftover scraps on this card and I was saving the paper with the big swirl on to look at LOL! but I saw this challenge and thought the paper was perfect! I also used my new stamp from the city girls collection. I sprayed everything with Pearl glimmer mist.

I am also entering the card for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge which is 3,2,1:

Magnolia Easter Basket

I loved this challenge I will definately be making some more for gifts.

Sorry about all of the pictures I couldn't decide which ones to post.
