Sparkle

Here is a Scarf I have knitted for a friend's 30th. Her favourite colour is purple and she likes bling. So when I saw the wool I knew it was for her. She hasn't seen it yet so I hope she likes it.

Postcard Catch up! And an ATC.

It's been a while!
Life has been hectic lately, I have finally managed to catch up with my postcards for Darcy's Challenge although I haven't had time to do the story (it will follow)

Week 10 - Canada
I Borrowed the pic from Google Images and set to work with my Pro markers

Week 11 - Netherlands
I used my Neocolours I another borrowed pic from Google Images :o/ I also stamped around the edges.

Week 12 and 13 - Israel and Turkey
I used dylusion sprays for the background of the Israel card and coloured the flag with Neocolours and the Turkish card was another Borrowed Image from Google which was coloured with my
Pro markers.

Week 14 - Singapore
I had a little longer to complete this postcard, I used a scrap of animal print paper (graphic 45) and stamped the images and painted with distress inks, added letters which I cut in my cuttlebug and finally added a bright flower and gems from my stash.

Last but not least here is the ATC I made for Running with Scissors monthly swap the theme was Woman.

Thanks for popping by now I'm going to start my next postcard hopefully will get this done in time lol.

Until next time.

Postcard challenge catch up - Wales, Cuba and Switzerland

This is a long post so be warned!!
Here are my postcards that I have finally caught up With for Darcy's Postcard challenge, well I did this in the right week I just needed to write the story.
I used my Neo colours for the Daffodil and followed a drawing tutorial on you tube, I'm not very good at drawing but I am quite impressed with it, I also wrote out the Welsh National anthem for the background Although it isn't very neat! a bit of a scrawl really.

And the Back, Hopefully you can read the writing so I won't re write it and bore you all
(although somehow it does have a lot of ink smudges on lol).

Here is my card for Cuba, I used one of my honeymoon snaps (we went to Crete and the hotel had a Cuban night, which was very impressive) to do a photo transfer I followed a tutorial from a blog I found on Pinterest you can find the tutorial here. I was very impressed with the results as it was my first attempt, I also added stitching and used my acrylic paints to add the effect of a beach in the background.

And the back of the card, again covered in ink smudges!!

Finally Switzerland!!!
I really struggled with this until I read that it was famous for making clocks, Well that was my mind made up as I got to use my Weathered clock die :0), I also used my whimsy pocket watch stamp and added crackle for the glass, I embossed the image with clear embossing powder and inked with TH Vintage photo, Then I thought I had finished only to find I brilliant clock charm so this had to be added too.

And the back.

Phew!! it feels good to have finally caught up, I have started my book to keep them in too. although it looks like it may take me forever to complete, especially as I start back at work next week after 4 months sick:0/.
It will be glad to get back to normal.
and other good news, I joined weight watchers last week as the pounds have crept on while I have been inactive, I have managed to loose 4.5lbs Yay!!! I was well impressed as I ate out 4 times last week too although I did eat stuff that I would never have chosen before I really enjoyed it and would definitely eat those things again.

Thank you so much again for your lovely comment's,

Until next time.

Happy Birthday Tracey. A Postcard from Belgium.

First of all I would like to wish my dear friend Tracey Happy Birthday,
Unfortunately I can't show you the card I made for her yet as I have to give Tracey the card first.

Here is my postcard for Darcy's challenge. I am a bit later than usual posing it but it is finally here.
I don't know if Hotel Chocolat originated in Belgium but I had the ribbon and it suited the card so I used it. I coluoured the stamped images with my Polychromos and stuck them on with 3d foam pads,  coloured the flag with my Neo colours (a bargain not to be missed as I was informed by Anita they are like magic!) Oh! and they are!

And here is the back of the postcard.

It reads:-

Dear Spencer,
No regrets, I had a wonderful time. I return the ring to Harry this week, wish me luck.
No need to call let's keep up the postcards it's more fun.
P.s. I'm in Belgium at the moment eating lots of lovely chocolates.
Penny. (although I have just realised I haven't signed it off from penny ooops!!).

Thanks you for reading and also thank you for taking the time to leave comments, I will be popping to everyone's blog on Thurs/Fri.

Until next time,

Brazil Week 3 of Darcy's postcard Challenge

This is my postcard for week three of Darcy's postcard challenge. And it was a challenge this week as I didn't know what I could do for the postcard, so I decided to use the flag colours and the famous carnival< I sat and crocheted the flowers and thought what I could do while I was crocheting and I came up with the idea of a mask and lots of bling!

The back of the postcard,

Reads:-

Dear Penny,
Let's meet and reunite you with this ring. I'm in Brazil at the moment but will have a stop over in London on Wed 1st Feb 2012. Meet me at the bar in Claridges Hotel at 8pm, there will be a cocktail waiting for you at the bar - I will be in my uniform. By the way 'Im intrigued, you say it's no longer yours, I imagine a girl doesn't easily give up a diamond this big!

I hope you like it and thank you all again for all of the lovely comments, I am loving this challenge so much, why didn't they do something like this at school so I enjoyed geography?

I am so looking forward to the next country.
until next time.

Postcard Challenge week 2 - Spain

Yay!! week 2 of Darcy's Postcard challenge has arrived!
The country for this week is Spain. I chose Madrid as this is the fashion capital of Spain and it fits so well with my story, I decorated my postcard with Tim Holtz sewing room die and Tag and bookplates. I added some thread, a wooden button, pearls, lace and brads and glossy accents crackle. I also printed an old map from google images and used this for the background.

And on the back of the card I made a template on the PC added the word postcard in Spanish ( I hope it's right :0/ ) I also added an old Spanish stamp I found in my stash.

The postcard reads:

Dear Captain Spencer Everett,
Thank goodness you found my purse. You see the item inside no longer mine and I need to return it A.S.A.P. We need to meet but it seems we are both regular travellers. I am a fashion designer and am often overseas, as you'll see from the card i am in Madrid at the moment. If you you would please let me know when you are next in London I will arrange to pick up the purse.
Yours Gratefully,
Penny.

I hope you are enjoying the story so far?
I am really enjoying the challenge and already looking forward to Monday to find out the next Country.
Also taking part in the challenge are my lovely close friends:

Thanks for all of your lovely comments and welcome to all of my new followers.
Until next time,
